Charity
I Can't be Bothered!

Charity ?.....I Cant't be Bothered

Shhh! Cried the people
As the blind men ran shouting Jesus name.
God bless the house of Onesiphorous
Who refreshed Paul and was not ashamed of his chain

We often forget in our desire for success
That the offense of the cross has not ceased.
He that is about to slip with his feet
A lamp despised, in eyes, that are at ease.

Remember back when the afflictions of men
Was not something that we deplored?
Now it’s how we look, not who is in his book
The poverty of hope we ignore.

Knowing that we are to glorify God
While suffering for his name.
Look back to a time you carried each day
His burdens without shame.

He was rich, yet became poor
And was not ashamed to call me, "brother."
Should I then say I deserve my pay?
And scorn the needs of another?

Every good and perfect gift
Comes down from the Father of Light.
We give to God in poverty or plenty
By helping the poor in his plight
