"Should?"
All that matters is what is

Should is a word that should be taken out of the English language. This one single word is a source of a large amount of sadness in our lives.

These two disciples on the road to Emmaus were perplexed about all the things that had happened recently.  Most of their dismay came from unmet expectations.
Too often we are distressed because things are not going the way they, “should.”
Really it doesn’t matter how things should be, the only things that matters is what is. I can deal with life much easier when I accept that, “God’s thoughts are not my thoughts neither are his ways my ways.”

I never wanted to write poetry
It sounded kind of sissy to me
But as I negotiate life’s terrain
        Struggling with problems and pain
I found most of the time
        Lessons learned tend to rhyme
So, “Should” and “What is” disagree
