Third Row Pole
A concept car about life
|
Third row pole second heat
Didn’t qualify for the feature
But most of these boys I should beat
Croce wasn’t thinking about me
When he wrote Rapid Roy
But I give all I got on this
Track in Belleville Illinois
I‘ve never yet won
The feature race
But I always run hard
I set the pace
In the turns is where
Most races are won
With cars scraping bars
It’s part of the fun
I could use more horsepower
But the chassis makes do
If a hole opens up
I’m going through
The whole point of racing
Is to beat all the rest
I’m fighting hard
To improve on my best
Did I charge hard enough
Into that last turn?
If I charge too hard
Will I roll, crash and burn?
I’ve been racing stock cars
For an awful long time
But I don’t just want
To make it to the finish line
When the flagman jumps
Waving the checkered flag
Whether first or last
I’ll be driving like mad.
